The Farmhand 14: Stable
All Things Stable
Jack and Rodney stepped back from the new swing door.
It swung freely on its new hinges before settling shut with a satisfying thud.
Neither of them said anything. They simply stood there catching their breath, sweat soaking through their shirts as they admired the extended stable. Fresh-cut timber mixed with the smell of hay and horses while the afternoon sun poured through the open bays, making every speck of dust impossible to miss.
Half a dozen horses shifted contentedly in their new stalls, occasionally stamping a hoof or flicking a tail at persistent flies.
